| Alberta Watson, or Faith Susan Alberta Watson, is a woman with quite a challenging life. She was born on March 6, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This film and television actress was born to Grace and Albert. Her father abandoned her and her family when she was just a baby and she, along with her half-siblings ended up with her grandparents. This did not stop her from pursuing her dream as an actress. She was part of a theater group in Toronto when she was 15, and with this group, she was able to perform in a production of Hamlet. Alberta Watson opted not to finish high school, and instead she moved in with friends. But things went awry for Watson, so she returned to acting at the age of 17. Several years later, she lost her mother to illness, but this did not keep her from reaching her goals. Her first big break was in the movie Honor Thy Father, and she proceeded to add to her acting experience with projects such as In Praise of Older Women, Spanking the Monkey, Hackers, and The Sweet Hereafter. Her most memorable performance to date is Madeline in La Femme Nikita. |
