| Alessandra Ambrosio hails from Brazil and is part of the elite group of Brazilian models who rose to prominence in the latter part of the 90's. The group included such names as Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, and Ana Beatriz Barros, the best friend of Alessandra. Known for her modeling works for Victoria's Secret, Guess?, and Next, Alessandra started out early in the field, entering the Look of the Year contest in 1996 when she was only 15. A year after, she signed a modeling contract with Elite, followed shortly thereafter by her first real break, a cover shoot for the Brazilian edition of Elle magazine. The year 2000 saw Alessandra signing up with Guess? as one of the models for its fall collection. A stint with Victoria's Secret and Revlon followed soon after, capped by her selection as the original Victoria's Secret Pink collection spokesmodel. At present, Alessandra is a member of the NYC Elite plus circle. She also did a movie recently, essaying a cameo role in the latest James Bond movie, "Casino Royale". |
