Almudena Fernandez entered the national consciousness when she emerged first runner-up in the Spanish edition of the Supermodel of the World modeling contest. From there, she represented her native country Spain in the Supermodel Search European edition where, again, she was proclaimed first runner-up. Armed with two prominent titles and a classic Spanish beauty, Almudena quickly landed several modeling jobs, doing poses for prominent names like Olivier Strelli, Lacoste, Alain Manoukian, and Herms. It was her eventual decision to migrate to New York, however, that gave Almudena more international exposure, becoming the official spokesmodel for Aquaflore by Carolina Herrera and Organza Indecence by Givenchy. More fashion modeling jobs then came, including projects for Revlon, Victoria's Secret, and Kenneth Cole. Then came cover page appearances in prestigious magazines like Cosmopolitan and Elle which necessitated traveling from different places all at one time. Reportedly, a budding romance is developing between her and model Antonio Macian, and this has forced Almudena to stay in New York more often. Still, there is no apparent slowdown for the workaholic Almudena.
