| Carole Laure was born in Shawinigan (near Montreal), Quebec, Canada on August 5, 1951. Laure was a teacher before she became an actress and a singer. She started her acting career at the age of 20. Laure is first seen in the movie 'Mon enfance ŕ Montreal' in 1971 directed by Jean Chabot. She became the star of French Canadian cinema because of her exotic beauty and charming personality. She appeared in the Canadian film entitled 'Sweet Movie' in 1974 which became controversial because of its sexual explicitness and scatology. Laure also started her singing career collaborating with Lewis Furey in doing some LPs in French and English, whom she met in 1977 and became her husband. Her first album is entitled “Alibis” which released in 1978. Laure attained international notoriety for her great work in the role of Solange, the sexually unresponsive spouse of Gerard Depardieu in the movie 'Get Out Your Handkerchiefs' (1978). |
