She was able to beat Linda Evangelista and Gwyneth Paltrow from the much coveted position as Estee Lauder's spokesperson, while the fact that she would replace Elizabeth Hurley in the million-dollar ad campaign only proved that she is indeed, a supermodel. As such, Carolyn Murphy also won the VH1 recognition as 1998's "Model of the Year" while still gracing the covers of glossy magazine spreads and walking the runway for only the famous fashion houses such as Prada, D&G, and Versace. She was once married to the surfing magnate, Jake Schroeder, whom she had a child. Surprisingly, after shedding off the flabby weight from her pregnancy, Carolyn Murphy still made it to the prestigious cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. At present, the 31-year old model also had several acting stints for films like "Liberty Heights" and "Disclosure" which earned her even the respect of her critics. What sets Carolyn Murphy apart from her competition is that she's never afraid to look different. She is quick to assume different hairstyles and colors and may also dress more comfortably than usual.
