| Christy Turlington's initial interest was not in the fashion industry but rather, she had an undeniable passion for horses and horseback riding. In her childhood and teenage years, she joined competitions and while in it, was discovered b Dennie Cody. It is due to her stunning beauty and undeniable potential that Turlington is instantly hired by (primarily) local advertisers. With these companies, she had a successful series of projects specially for the store chain known as Emporium Capwell. She appeared in Vogue magazine and worked with the best photographers in the world. After this, designers signed her up for fashion shows both in the U.S. and Paris. Almost eight years ago, Turlington signed a contract which eventually led her to a successful career under the Calvin Klein label, while she also started representing the same company's perfume Eternity. It took her but a sweep in the industry when only years after her big achievements, she began representing other popular brands including the Maybelline cosmetics line. Today, Christy is an advocate for helping poverty-stricken individuals as she donates all the proceeds from her calendar to the American Foundation for El Salvador. |
