| Elle McPherson (born March 29 1964) is a very famous Australian model and actress. She was born in New South Wales, Australia with the birth name Eleanor Nancy Gow. She became a model when the Chick Model Management saw her in Tasmania,where she and her family were vacationing. Elle's rise to fame started when she appeared in the very prestigious ELLE magazine. Additionally, she also posed for Sports Illustrated appearing four times on the magazine for three consecutive years. In 1986, Time magazine featured her and called her as The Big Elle. In 1994, Elle made it to the big screen when she appeared in the 1994 film Sirens that starred Sam Neilli, Hugh Grant, and Portia de Rossie. After that stint, she also became a part of the movies Jane Eyre and If Lucy Fell. In the late 1990's, a couple tried to extort her but police cam to rescue and arrested the suspects. |
