| Most noted for her role as Calleigh Duquesne in the CBS hit TV series CSI: Miami, Emily Proctor was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 8, 1968. With ambitions of becoming an actress, Emily tried to enrolled in East Carolina University's theater department. Unfortunately, she was turned down by the department's head, saying that acting is not for her. Emily pursued journalism instead and went on to become the weather anchor for WNCT-TV. Not forgetting her dreams of acting, Emily took acting lessons when she moved to Los Angeles. A naturally talented actress, Emily already scored small roles in a few movies like “Breast Men” and “Jerry Maguire.” Even though Emily was able to somewhat break into the big screen, it was in the small screen that she became well-known. Her first TV acting stint was in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” where she played Lana Lang. It was then followed by more TV appearances until she was finally offered her detective role in CSI: Miami. |
