Emma Thompson bio
Award-winning actress Emma Thompson was born on the 15th of April 1959. She grew up in Paddington, London from a talented family with her parents both being renowned actors as well as her younger sister. In 1989, Emma made her debut in films with the romantic comedy "The Tall Guy". 1992 was a great year for Emma because she won multiple acting awards for "Best Actress" for her role in the British drama "Howards End". A year after that, she won dual Academy Award nominations for "Best Actress" for the movie "The Remains of the Day" and "Best Supporting Actress" for the drama "In the Name of the Father". In 1995, Emma won Academy Award for "Best Adapted Screenplay" and a BAFTA Award for "Best Actress" in the movie "Sense and Sensibility". She also starred in several movies including the "Harry Potter" film series, "Love Actually", "Angels in America", "Stranger than Fiction", "An Education" and "Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang". Emma got married to actor Kenneth Branagh in 1989, but got divorced in 1995. She re-married in 2003 to Greg Wise who is also an actor and they have a daughter together and an adopted child.
