| Erika Christensen was born on August 19, 1982 in Seattle, Washington. Her parents are Kathy Christensen, who worked as a construction manager, and Steve Christensen, who is an insurance worker. She grew up in Los Angeles, California. She is of mixed Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Welsh, and Irish descent. Her beginnings on TV are in McDonald's commercials. She was cast in roles in several TV shows like Frasier, The Geena Davis Show, Frasier, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Practice, and Touched by an Angel. She then began to move on to movies. She starred, among other movies that she made, in the film 'Traffic' in 2000 and 'The Perfect Score' in 2004. Erika is also a co-star in the ABC drama 'Six Degrees'. People magazine named Erika as one of the "Breakthrough Stars of 2001." She got the 'Female Breakthrough Performance Award' at the MTV Movie Awards for her acting in 'Traffic' She also received the Young Hollywood Awards' 'Female Standout Performance' and the Screen Actors Guild Awards' 'Outstanding Performance by a Cast Ensemble'. Erika closely resembles Julia Stiles who is also an actress. |
