Gabrielle Reece, a professional volleyball player and model, was born the 6th day of January 1970. Studying in Florida State University because of a volleyball scholarship, she was awarded a slot in the Florida State University Athletics Hall of Fame. It was while studying at FSU that Reece began her modeling career. Initially posing for magazine covers such as Women’s Sports & Fitness, Life, Outside ELLE, and Shape, she eventually posed for Playboy in Januar of 2001. The irony of this Playboy shoot is that she got offended when she was asked to pose nude for the magazine a year before. An Elite model, she earns a rate of about $10,000 a day. Reece has published an autobiography entitled “Big Girl in the Middle” with Karen Karbo as her co-writer. She also writes for her own column in Women’s Sports & Fitness magazine. She is currently married to surfer Laird Hamilton with a daughter named Reece Viola Hamilton.
