| Australian author and actress Isla Lang Fisher was born on February 3, 1976 in Muscat Oman to Presbyterian parents from Scotland. She is currently more popular for her high-profile engagement with English comedian and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen; the couple now currently stays in Los Angeles. She grew up in Western Australia, and it was where she first started acting in a well-known soap opera in the country, Home and Away, where Isla portrayed the role of Shannon. This was followed by a role in Oliver Twist. In 2002, she was given a noticeable part in the summer hit movie Scooby-Doo, as Shaggy's love interest, Mary Jane. In 2005, Isla gave a great performance in the movie the Wedding Crashers, where she won the award for Breakthrough Performance as a nymphomaniac at MTV's Movie Awards. Isla then went on to star in a movie with Jason Stratham, Chris Evans, and Jessica Biel in the movie Manhattan. She has also written two autobiographies, Seduced and Bewitched. |
