| American supermodel Janice Doreen Dickinson was born on the 15th of February 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, but was raised in Hollywood, Florida. Despite being emotionally and physically abused during her childhood, she was able to overcome all difficulties and end up being one of the most successful supermodels in 1970s and 1980s. Jane won "Miss High Fashion Model" in early 1970s and decided to move to New York City to pursue her modeling career. She had a hard time getting projects because of her exotic looks that's why she decided to move to Paris where she got her big break. She went back to New York in 1978 and worked for Ford Models, but moved to Elite Model Management because she still remembers the rejection she had with Ford when she was just starting as a model. She was considered a supermodel in 1980s and has since then graced the covers of various international magazines and worked with some of the top designers and fashion brands. In 2003, she was offered to judge four cycles on America's Next Top Model. In 2005, she finally launched her own modeling agency called "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency". |
