Karen Elson bio
Brit model/singer Karen Elson's date of birth is on the 14th of January 1979. She hails from Oldham, Greater Manchester, England and started modeling when she was just a teenager. Her biggest break for modeling happened on her 18th birthday when famous photographer Steven Meisel shot her for Italian Vogue. Since then, she has worked with top fashion photographers and designers both in print and the runway including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, YSL, Versace, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Christian Dior, Burberry and Louis Vuitton. Karen also graced the covers of international magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Dazed & Confused, Nylon and Elle. Karen is currently the image model of American fashion brand St. John and YSL Opium perfume. Karen was named "Model of the Year" at the 1998 VH1 Fashion Awards and won the 2005 British Fashion Award for Best Model. Aside from modeling, she is also an actress appearing in several short films and music videos. In 2010, Karen released her debut solo album "The Ghost Who Walks" produced by her husband Jack White of the band "The White Stripes". They have been married for five years and have a two children together.
