American singer Katherine McPhee was born Katharine Hope McPhee on the 25th of March 1984 in Los Angeles, California, but moved to Sherman Oaks when she was 12 years old. McPhee started singing at age two having been influenced by her mother who is a vocal coach and a professional cabaret singer as well as her dad who is a TV producer. McPhee became famous for being a runner-up in the fifth season of reality show "American Idol" in 2006. A year after that, she released her self-titled debut album which reached number two on the Billboard 200. McPhee's first single "Over It" was a certified gold in 2008. In 2010, McPhee released her second album "Unbroken" which reached number 27 on the Billboard 200. Her single from that album entitled "Had It All" was at number 22 on the Billboard AC chart. Later that year, McPhee released her third album "Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You" which reached number 11 on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums chart. Aside from singing, McPhee also appeared on film including the comedy "The House Bunny" in 2008. She got married to Nick Cokas on the 2nd of February 2008.
