| Olympic gold medalist figure skater Katrina Witt's date of birth is on the 3rd of December 1965. She hails from Staaken, East Germany and went to a special school that caters to athletically talented children where she trained figure skating at a young age. Witt was a two time Olympic gold medalist. First was for East Germany in the Sarajevo Olympics in 1984 and the second was at the Calgary Olympics in 1988. She was also a four time winner at the World Championships having won in 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1988. Witt is also a six-time winner at the European Championships from 1983 to 1988. She is now known as one of the top figure skaters in the world. Aside from figure skating, Witt showed her talent in acting in the movie "Carmen on Ice " in 1989 where she won an Emmy Award. She also did a small role in "Jerry Maguire" and in the German film "Princess on Ice" where she also sang the theme song entitles "Skate With Me". In 1995, Witt was included in the Hall of Fame for World Figure Skating. In 1998, she flaunted her body for Playboy magazine which became one of the two sold-out issues of that magazine. |
