| As far as supermodels go, there are a couple of names that have gone beyond the fashion world and into the minds of the mainstream public. There's Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and of course, the incomparable Linda Evangelista. Linda is credited as having been the model who began the fashion "union," which fought for higher wages and better benefits for the models who worked the runways of the high fashion industry. Apart from those, Evangelista is best remembered for two incredible things. First, her stunning good look, which is a product of her Italian heritage. Her first change of style came when she cut her long, golder strands and turned them into a boyish, very masculine cut.
