| Being exposed to a lot of TV commercials, Melissa is inevitably an actress at heart. Her first major role was in a bathroom toy called “Splashy” and later on, she starred in other TV ads including "Kane & Abel" and "The Equalizer." Though she was able to bag more than 20 commercials at an early age, she had her eyes set on other interests. Aside from TV commercials and films, she also joined Broadway shows. During this time, her most distinguished role in "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," where she played the lead role as Sabrina. This character of hers gave way to a wholesome image. So when Melissa posed in a famous men’s magazine, the owner of Archie comics and the Sabrina TV series demanded her to quit from being the lead in the show. But despite of the end of her role as Sabrina, Melissa still continued her career in the film industry, but as a film company proprietor this time. She owns Hartbreak Films with her mom, Paula, as her business partner. |
