Monica Cruz bio
Monica Cruz Sanchez is a Spanish actress/dancer who is the youngest sister of Hollywood star Penelope Cruz. Born on March 16, 1977, to parents Eduardo Cruz and Encarna Sanchez, with siblings Eduardo, a Spanish singer and renown actress Penelope Cruz. The two sisters trained professionally as dancers, and Monico would later work with Joaquin Cortes flamenco dance company for seven years, until she shifted her focus to acting. She landed her first role on Paso Adelante, a Spanish television show in 2005 co-starring Pablo Puyol, Beatriz Luengo, Lola Herrera and Silvia Marty. Her Hollywood breakthrough would translate to such films as the 2006 thriller 'Last Hour,' with DMX and Michael Madsen, 'The Final Inquiry,' and The Blackening in 2007, and 2008's 'Asterix at the Olympic Games.' Monica was also cast in 'Iron Cross,' in 2010, a Joshua Newton flick wherein she portrays Gaby, alongside acter Roy Schneider.
