| Paulina Porizkova is a Czech-born supermodel and actress with dual citizenship from the United States and Sweden. She was born on April 9, 1965 in Prostejov, Czechoslovakia. She was noticed for her multi-million dollar contract with Estee Lauder and then was offered to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. In 1984, she met her future husband Ric Ocasek, the unsexiest man alive as dubbed by The Boston Phoenix magazine. Despite the success of her modeling career, Paulina felt she was not happy with what has been happening to her. To create an outlet, she pursued an acting career. Many say her claim to fame was when she played opposite Tom Selleck in the movie Her Alibi. However, she also once starred in a cult documentary entitled Paris Is Burning in 1990 which also made her somewhat famous. Today, although she has retired from modeling, she occasionally goes to photo shoots, and she occupies herself through writing, painting, and playing the piano. |
