Petra Nemcova - Biography, pictures and video galleries
| Petra Nemcova was born in Czech Republic on June 24th, 1979. She started running around catwalks at 16 and at 24, found herself donning a cute swimwear in the swimsuit edition of "Sports Illustrated". From there, she became the face of many women's line including Victoria's Secrets and posed as a judge in the 2004 Miss Universe pageant that was held in Ecuador. Nemcova was having a blissful modeling career when tragedy hit during the latter part of 2004. She was vacationing in Thailand along with then fiance, photographer Simon Atlee, when the tsunami hit. Nemcova miraculously survived, spending more than a month and a half in the hospital but unfortunately for her too, Atlee was not able to make it. As it has appeared in the "Sports Illustrated's" 2006 swimsuit issue however, Nemcova seems to be back in shape, even being able to spring back from the heartache that the tsunami had caused her. James Blunt, a British singer, is said to be keeping her happy these days. |
