Phoebe Cates (born July 16, 1963) appeared mostly in teen films in the eighties. She became an icon when she appeared in the 1982 film Fast Times at Ridgemont High. She went topless in the said movie which made her a cult classic in the 80’s and became popularly imprinted in pin-ups. Eventually, Harper’s Bazaar included her in their list of America'’s Most Beautiful Women in 1984 at the peak of her stardom. She was married to Kevin Kline, a co-actor, in 1989. They lived in New York and had two children, Owen, born in 1991 and in 1994, Greta. Phoebe’'s later roles in movies became more sublime and modest. She later appeared in movies where she was remembered for her nice girl roles like Gremlins and Princess Caraboo. She also narrated a 1996 documentary about Heifer International entitled The Flame. Today, she keeps a gift shop in Madison Avenue, New York called the Blue Tree.
