| Raquel Welch started her career as a weather reporter in San Diego. But when her schedule conflicted with her college classes, she left college and settled with the job. However, her married life ended, and she had to move somewhere else with her children back then. In California where she moved, bit parts were given to her in various television shows and movies. Apparently, she was not that profitable being an actress. But life made a turn when she was cited in One Million Years B.C., wearing a furry-skin animal bikini. This point turned her into a sex symbol in the 60s and 70s. Playboy even named her "Most Desirable Woman" of the 1970s when she became their cover in 1979. Raquel was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 5, 1940 as Jo Raquel Tejada. Among her other achievements are Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Actress for The Musketeers in 1974 and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. |
