Shiri Appleby bio
Who could ever forget Liz Parker, that vulnerable, sweet, and disarming girl in Roswell? Known as Shiri Appleby off-screen, she was raised and born on the sultry city of Los Angeles, California on December 7, 1978. Her father, Jerry Appleby, works as a telecommunications executive while her mother, Dina Bouader, is an Israeli-born Hebrew school teacher of Sephardic Jewish roots. Her name, "Shiri" either literally means "my song" or simply "sing" in Hebrew language. Shiri began her acting career at the age of four, beginning with advertising for several products such as M&M's and Cheerios. Her very first advertising stint was for Raisin Bran, but it was never aired. From then on, she had various guest appearances on numerous TV programs such as thirtysomething in 1987, Doogie Howser M.D. in 1989, ER in 1994, Baywatch in 1989, Xena: The Warrior Princess in 1995, Seventh Heaven in 1996, and Beverly Hills 90210 in 1990. As of 2006, Shiri has a recurring role on the ABC drama Six Degrees as Anya, a young assistant who is in a May-December love affair with a photographer.
