Zdenka Podkapova has been a gymnast for ten years before she was spotted by a photographer at the age of 18. Being a gymnast, she has been really fit and slim and was a member of the Czech National team for a span of five years. She was also a Czech national champion for four times during the early stages of her gymnastic career. The first time she was approached by a photographer, she was still in school and was taking up Economics and so she declined. After she graduated, she looked for the photographer and had some of her pictures taken for a trial shoot. Zdenka was still unsure at that time but the photographer really liked the way she looked that's why she gave it a try. Her very first professional pictorial came in the year 1996 sometime in October. It was in Gran Canaria Island and she has worked every single day for the next two weeks during that time.

She then returned to Czech Repucblic and she started working with her photographer and was soon his assistant and makeup artist for the next two years. She was already enjoying modelling and she decided to go for a bigger career that's why she started contacting the USA Penthouse. She was lucky and she soon found herself working for Penthouse. Pictures of her first Penthouse shoot was released in April 1998 and her success continued. The following year, 1999, she became Penthouse Pet of the Month and in 2001, she was proclaimed USA Penthouse Pet of the Year.

Zdenka was proud to of her title because she was the very first Czech to win the title of Penthouse Pet of the Year and was the second woman from Europe to win such prestige. Zdenka has also been to France where she met the Christophe Mourthe, a photographer. Her face is often seen gracing magazines and nude photo shoots.
